Here's what our clients have to say...

design architecture renovation new build

We are delighted to share our appreciation and enthusiasm for the exceptional concept design by 27acres. Our project had some very real limitations, being a Lockwood, we were aware of the difficulties/costs involved in renovating the existing structure. However, our holiday home in its present form made it difficult to imagine settling there more permanently.

We were absolutely blown away by the concept that Ollie produced for us. The additional 68 square metres transformed our holiday home into a building we could see ourselves settling more permanently in the near future. Utilising the existing buildings, we now have a private nor-west aspect courtyard perfect for a BBQ in the long Central Otago summer evenings. We really felt that Ollie carefully listened to our ideas and preferences, grasping the essence of what we had envisioned. Throughout the entire design process, they flawlessly translated those ideas into a stunning concept that truly brought our vision to life.

Communication throughout the design process was exemplary. Ollie kept us informed and involved every step of the way, ensuring we were an integral part of the decision-making process. Their ability to balance their creative vision with some of our practical requirements was truly commendable, resulting in a design that far exceeded our expectations.

We are eager to move forward with the next phases of the project, knowing we have a great team by our side. Without a doubt, I would recommend 27acres to anyone seeking an exceptional and transformative architectural experience.

Thank you, Ollie, for transforming our vision into a concrete reality that we cannot wait to see materialise.

Sincerely,

We were lucky to pick up this site a few years back and had since built a shed with an attached apartment. The long-term plan always being to build a larger family home on the site, and our shed was located towards the road for this reason. Fast forward a few years and now with a growing family we approached Ollie at 27acres to design us a home.

We had a pretty good idea of what we wanted for our site, as a builder I’ve spent many years working on bespoke projects. So, we were pretty stoked with Ollie’s ability to collate our ideas into a seamless package. The house is quite large at 260m², and splitting the building into two distinct parts was a clever way to break up the bulk.

Effective communication is always my priority in my dealings with clients, and I was glad to experience the same level of professionalism when collaborating with Ollie.  He listened to our feedback, even when discussing the small details, ensuring that our vision was understood. I will definitely not hesitate to recommend Ollie to any future clients.

Client Testimonial - New Plymouth Renovation

I recently completed a small renovation project in New Plymouth, and I couldn't be happier with the outcome. We decided to add an extra bedroom and lounge to our existing home, and when we presented our floorplan to 27acres, we were unexpectedly challenged in some areas of our design. However, due to this, the final result has far surpassed our expectations. Their expertise truly transformed our space, and I highly recommend their services to anyone looking for a top-notch renovation.

The Churchyard House design has been a long time in the making as we’ve been thinking about a build of some sort since buying it in 1988. A conception that long gifted our designer with some difficulties regarding client expectations and guiding those to a realistic outcome. Additionally, bringing home a concept within budget presented Ollie with further expectation challenges, in particular those thrown up by us his parents!

We have both been impressed with how he has managed this by having the confidence to know ‘what’s best’ and steering us towards that by giving options that fit with the parameters of build and budget and translating that perfectly into the design. Or on occasions giving just the right amount of acknowledgement of an idea(s) but also offering a confident and reasoned alternative which was often accepted and included in the design, one incorporating changes and compromises contributing to an affordable outcome. We are thrilled with the final design one necessarily constrained by its narrow site but which skilfully frames the building’s features with its place in the landscape.
