How we do things a little differently
27acres was born with a mission to bridge the gap between beautiful design and affordability. The traditional architect model accounts for around 5% of all detached homes built in NZ. How we ensure a great outcome
To achieve our promise, our firm's design work is exclusively handled by designers who hold both Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Architecture from one of the three NZIA-accredited universities in New Zealand. This ensures our designers have a solid education that combines theory and practical experience.
Importantly, this equips us with the skills to work with you, customising your project according to your site and design requirements.
Our Process
At 27acres we are trained to think creatively and conceptually. We always approach each project as a unique challenge, considering factors such as site location, climate, cultural context, and client requirements. With a broad knowledge of design principles, we can develop imaginative and sustainable solutions that optimise space and harmonise with the surrounding context.

Having grown up in rural Southland; making, building and creating became part of the everyday. That's why, years later, I made the move to the vibrant city of Wellington to study architecture at Victoria University. Over the years, Wellington has become my home, where I now live with my wife and daughter.
Fuelled with a formal design background, and over a decade of construction industry experience, I started 27acres with the goal of making good-design more accessible. For me, 27acres is a tribute to my roots, serving as a constant reminder of the essence of what a home should offer. Today, I bring passion, knowledge, and rigour to each project I tackle and I’m driven to assist others in creating their own distinct and memorable spaces.
